Volunteers need a valid Palatine Public Library District card. We are unable to accommodate court-ordered or court-supervised community service.  

Opportunities for Adults

Homebound Delivery Services Volunteers

 

Location: Main Library
Date/time:   Thursday mornings or early afternoons
Duration: Ongoing

Help us deliver library materials to homebound patrons.  Deliveries will be made twice a month on Thursdays.  Volunteers must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be able to use their own vehicle to make deliveries.  Must have the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Open to residents 18 years old and up.

 

ESL Conversation Club Volunteers

Location: Main Library
Date/time:   2nd & 4th Tuesdays 9:30-11:00 am 
Duration: Ongoing

If you're a good listener, curious, and patient, we are looking for new volunteers to join our team!   ESL Conversation Club is led by two library staff members and 10 volunteers.   You'll help facilitate small group conversations on selected topics with adults from around the world learning English.   Time commitment:  2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.  Questions?   Feel free to contact Megan Buttera, x167, mbuttera@palatinelibrary.org.
