How to Apply
You may also submit a paper application, available at all Library locations. Some opportunities require a special application (as noted below).
Volunteers need a valid Palatine Public Library District card and must commit to volunteering a minimum of 15 hours.
Opportunities for Adults
Location: Main Library
Date/Time: Limited weekday morning and evening hours
Duration: Ongoing or Short-Term
Greet library visitors at the front entrance and provide directions during our renovation. Volunteer must commit to volunteering at least 2 hours or more each week. This opportunity requires standing at a podium for two hours. Students ages 14-18 may apply for this volunteer position for a short-term (15 hours or more).

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) - for grades 9th-12th
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets monthly during the school year and members assist at various programs throughout the year. Applicants must be in grades 9-12 to become a member. Applications are available August 1-15 (click on TAB link to access application).
Tween Advisory Group (TAG) - for grades 6th-8th
Our Tween Advisory Group (TAG) has a new format! Get to know other middle schoolers while enjoying a fun activity. Grades 6-8. Sign up by clicking date below.
Tween Hangouts - First Friday of the Month, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
- September 3: Create in the Workshop (the Library’s new makerspace)
- October 1: Zombie Pumpkins
- November 5: Fall Service Project: Craft Kits for Homebound Residents (volunteer credit available)
