For District Residents
You can apply for a Palatine Library card if you live inside the Palatine Public Library District. Library cards are free. See a map of the District.

Complete this form to apply for a card online. A staff member will contact you by phone or email in 2-3 business days with your card number and PIN.
Come In To Apply
Bring one form of government issued photo ID to any Library location. If the photo ID does not have your current address, bring an additional document that shows your address. Children under 18 must be with an adult to apply for a card.
For a quicker process, download the application in advance. Print and complete it, and bring it with you to the Library.
For a District Business or Not-for-Profit
Palatine Library cards are available to any business within the Library District.
To Apply
The owner or manager must apply in person at any Library location. Provide a personal photo ID and the business's current tax bill, lease agreement, or utility bill.
The person whose name appears on the card will be responsible for all resources checked out. Reciprocal borrowing with other libraries is not honored.
For Non-District Residents
If you do not live or own property within our District, and are not eligible for a library card elsewhere, you can purchase a full-service Library card for an annual fee (as permitted under applicable state laws and regulations). Contact staff for further questions, x125.

To get a card
Bring a copy of your most recent Cook County tax bill (home-owners) or lease agreement (renters) and a photo ID to any of our locations.
