Library Closed through April 8

Due to an abundance of caution and the Governor’s stay-at-home order, all Palatine Public Library District facilities will remain closed through April 8. Please do not return your Library materials until the Library reopens. There will not be any late penalties. Watch the website and social media for updates.

Volunteers need a valid Palatine Public Library District card and must commit to volunteering a minimum of 15 hours. We are unable to accommodate court-ordered or court-supervised community service.  

Opportunities for Adults

 

Homebound Volunteer (2 Opportunities)

Location: Main Library
Date/time:  Thursday mornings or afternoons
Duration: Ongoing

Help us deliver library materials to homebound patrons. Deliveries will be made twice a month on Thursdays. Volunteers must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be able to use their own vehicle to make deliveries.  Must have the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift and carry up to 20 pounds.  Open to residents 18 years old and up.

 

 

Opportunities for Teens

Summer Reading Program

Volunteers in 7th -12th grade will be needed for the Summer Reading Program which is June 1-August 14, 2020.  Applications will be available May 1-15, 2020.  

 

Teen Advisory Board

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets monthly during the school year and members assist at various programs throughout the year.  Applications are available in August each year.
