April 3 - 9 is National Library Week

There are so many new spaces to explore after our recent renovations! If you haven't been in lately, you're in for a surprise. Visit the Main Library and our Branches to enjoy our fresh, updated look and get acquainted with new spaces and materials that we provide to the community. 

• The Workshop is a new, self-led space with a wide array of tools and machines. The area includes a Lab classroom, study rooms, and media studios. 
• The Youth Area has new shelving, furniture, and a gaming station. 
• The Storytime Room is all new for fun programs. 
• Check out Movies and Music in an easy to browse section on the first floor. 
• All Adult Fiction and Nonfiction is now located on the second floor. 
• There are now a total of 14 study rooms at the Main Library. 
  Reserve a room or drop in to use a room for groups from 2 - 10 people. 
• Enjoy the new Second Floor Quiet Reading Room for some personal time.

Pick up a guide sheet at any service desk with activities like these to earn an entry form.

• Visit the Youth and Teen Desk for take-home crafts and activities
• Check out a book, DVD, or CD
• Borrow something from the Library of Things collection 
• Book a meeting room or use a study room
• Get a first-time Palatine Library card and get double entries
• Use a computer or laptop in the building 
• Visit The Workshop and make a button 
• Download items from our digital collection

Submit your entry at the Main Library or Branches throughout April. Beginning April 8, names are drawn at the end of each week. Winners are notified by the first day of the following week. Funds for prizes are generously donated by Friends of Palatine Library.
