In September, we conducted a Community Survey to learn more about your experiences at the Library and to ask for your feedback and suggestions.
We reached out to District residents (both users and nonusers), through our newsletter, at community events, email, and at each of our three locations. We received an extraordinary response of over 6,000 completed surveys, greatly surpassing our expectations. Thank you!
We learned nearly half of those surveyed use the Library monthly, and one-third visit weekly. We are gratified that the Library received high rates of satisfaction for our friendly atmosphere, positive interactions with the staff, convenient hours of operation, and our large collection of resources in print and online.
Respondents’ comments and suggestions for improvements included how much they value the collection of books, movies, and music the Library provides, as well as being a safe, welcoming place for the community to meet or study. When prompted, “I wish the Library would…,” many answers were related to increasing Library hours, and adding even more resources, programs, and classes for all ages.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. Your input has already helped us to better understand our District’s needs, and will continue to be studied for ways that we can improve going forward.
Congratulations to Patricia Thorsen, the winner of a new iPad from our survey drawing!
