Oscar Party Recipes from Dave Esau

Dave Esau visited us last night to show us how to celebrate the upcoming Oscars with these great tasting recipes. The food was delicious! We hope you enjoy making these dishes as much as we enjoyed tasting them.

 

Dave’s Awesome Chili

Ingredients

1 Onions, peeled & diced

3 stalks Celery, diced

6 cloves Garlic minced

1 qt. can Kidney Beans

2 cups Canned Tomato

¼ cup Ketchup

Salt & Pepper

1/8 cup Dijon Mustard

Cajun spice

Cumin

½ cup Water

¼ cup Barbeque Sauce

2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

Method

Saute onion, celery, and garlic in large sauce pan with one tablespoon olive oil. Add rest of ingredients, bring to boil while stirring. Turn heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for 1 hour. Serve with chicken or ground beef and crusty bread.

Penne Carbonara

Ingredients

½ Onion, diced

3 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil

5 cloves Garlic, minced

½ cup White wine

1 cup Cream

1 tsp Honey

Parsley, chopped

1 tbsp Cornstarch

¼ cup Peas

4 strips Bacon, cooked crispy and chopped

2 pce Ham, thin julienne cut

dash Salt and pepper

Method

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil to lightly brown. Add wine and reduce by ½. Add cream and honey; bring to boil and cook 1 minute. Mix cornstarch with 2 Tbsp water and whisk into boiling cream sauce to thicken. Add peas, bacon, ham and salt and pepper. Stir into cooked pasta and mix very well. Check seasoning and serve with garlic bread!

Parmesan Bread

Ingredients

1 French Bread

Olive Oil

2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, shredded

Salt & Pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice bread lengthwise and place on baking sheet, cut side up. Drizzle bread with olive oil, then with parmesan. Season with salt and pepper. Bake 8-10 minutes, then slice and serve!!!
