Art in January

A new year brings a new round of artwork from local talent. Throughout the month, Jean Bolliger showcases her photos on the West Gallery Wall, while John Plishka features his soft pastel paintings.

West Gallery Wall

Jean Bolliger, our talented Library graphic artist, exhibits her hanging collage of photos taken throughout Palatine: flowers, nature, and more!  She uses several lenses to capture the unique angles and close-ups of her subject matter. Jean’s talents also include jewelry design and jewelry making. You’ll see some of her original jewelry work in the photos, too.

South Gallery Wall

John Plishka, a self-taught artist, displays his incredible work with soft pastels. An artist recognized on a national level, John Plishka is also a Juried Member of the American Academy of Equine Art. John’s work is best seen in person, so make sure to come in through January.

First Floor School Student Art Display

Student artwork from St. Thomas of Villanova School gives our display some much needed color during winter. Subjects include portrait, landscapes, and flowers.

First Floor Children’s Collection Cases

Hera displays her fun water globes from various venues all throughout the world, including Paris, Chicago, Breckenridge, and more.

Brothers Nate, Luke, Zach, Dan and Ben show us their collection of LEGO Bionicles in a creative set-up.
